On the 16th and 17th of July, more than three hundred
clients and their guests were invited to London’s Old Billingsgate Market for
the grand unveiling of the latest addition to Ferrari’s stable. Situated along
the River Thames, this venue provided a stunning backdrop to showcase the
all-new V12.
Upon arrival, guests were guided along a dramatic
red-and-black runway that led to the outdoor terrace, where they were welcomed
with a glass of champagne or a custom cocktail. The riverside terrace, with its
sweeping views of London, provided a perfect setting for guests to enjoy
pre-dinner drinks and appetisers while soaking in the ambiance. Flanking the
entrance were two iconic V12 models, the Ferrari Daytona and 275 GTB, paying
homage to Ferrari's rich V12 heritage.
As dinner commenced, the evening was elevated by a
spectacular performance featuring live music and dynamic dances, all centered
around the shrouded 12Cilindri, which was followed by a detailed presentation
of the new car. We were honoured to have Federico Pastorelli, Head of Ferrari
North Europe, and Jorge Clara, a former racing driver turned trainer, along
with a technician from Maranello, provide in-depth insights into the V12’s
concept. The presentation also included several video clips featuring Enzo Ferrari,
connecting the brand’s storied legacy to its present achievements. The evening
culminated in a heartfelt speech by our brand director, James Champion, leading
up to the dramatic reveal of the car.
The new mid-front-engine model pays tribute to Ferrari’s
legendary motor from the moment you hear its name. The 12Cilindri’s 830 cv
power output, with a maximum rev limit of 9500 rpm, and advanced electronic
controls mark a significant evolution from the Gran Turismo cars of the 1950s
and ’60s that inspired it. Beneath its elegant, streamlined design lies
cutting-edge technology, including active aerodynamics with two
aeronautical-inspired elements, an 8-speed DCT gearbox, independent four-wheel
steering, and advanced electronics like aspirated torque shaping, ABS Evo, and
Side Slip Control 8.0. The driving experience reaches new heights with the
option of open-top driving in the Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider, which was released
at the same time as the Coupe.
During the main course, guests were invited to approach the 12Cilindri
for a closer look, allowing them to touch and feel the craftsmanship and
discuss the car with us. Dessert was accompanied by another mesmerising
performance from the entertainment team, leading to the evening’s final
surprise—the reveal of the 12Cilindri Spider, making this event the only one in
the UK to showcase this model.
The night continued with further viewings of both cars,
music from the DJ, and an open bar, ensuring the celebration carried on in
style. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a part in meticulously
planning this event, which was flawlessly executed to the highest standards, as
reflected in the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our Ferrari community.
